Early-stage research
Define candidates, confirm maize pathway orthologues, design controls, recruit specialist collaborators, and establish reproducible assays.
- Candidate rationale
- Experimental protocols
- Predefined decision criteria
Research roadmap
This is a stage-gated plan rather than a promise of dates. Each phase depends on the quality of evidence produced in the phase before it.
Current position
Croptides is currently at the beginning of the N-Signal program. Later milestones describe intended work, not completed experiments.
Define candidates, confirm maize pathway orthologues, design controls, recruit specialist collaborators, and establish reproducible assays.
Run dose-response and nitrogen-regime studies to determine whether a reproducible molecular and physiological signal exists.
Advance only qualified candidates into replicated greenhouse studies measuring nitrogen accumulation, biomass, and performance together.
Evaluate formulation, stability, application route, and performance under more variable and agronomically relevant conditions.
If prior gates are cleared, conduct randomized field studies across nitrogen rates and environments before making performance claims.
No calendar dates are assigned until protocols, partners, and funding are in place. Negative or inconclusive results may repeat, redirect, or end a program.
Review the hypotheses and measurements that govern the first decision gate.
